It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Inglish & Louise! Inglish & Louise is a progressive folk act comprised of Erin Inglish - singer, banjo player, songwriter and California Central Coast native - and myself - guitar player, singer, and songwriter based out of Colorado. (If you're on this list I hope you know that already?) :) :)
Over the years we have nurtured and maintained independent careers - and are now coming together to present a strong double-bill tour. We have dates planned for this summer and fall from the east coast to the west. And more are emerging all the time.
Comprehensive information about our upcoming tour is located at www.gabriellelouise.com/tour.html and our facebook page.
We'll kick things off this weekend with dates in Las Cruces, including a return visit to Curry House Concerts. Our debut Denver appearance is August 24th at Leon Art Gallery! We have an entire string of California coastal dates, including Hotel Utah in San Francisco and The Coffee Gallery Backstage in Los Angeles, before heading to New York for a week of regional east coast gigs. You won't want to miss us at The Hillside Cafe in Nutley, NJ.
You can watch a video of the moment we thought: "Hey, lets hit the road together?" We were both on the bill at San Luis Obispo's Steynberg Gallery and teamed up for this tune, First Train West. We enjoyed playing together so much (that dispite a serious geographical disadvantage!) we have come together to create Inglish & Louise.
Hope to see you at a show soon,
P.S. New blog entry up at Cowbird!
ABOUT INGLISH & LOUISE:
ERIN INGLISH is a banjo player, singer, songwriter, artist, and engineer based out of San Luis Obispo, CA. Often inspired by her work as an eco-conscious engineer and her world travels, Erin writes and performs thoughtful, compelling music. Her personal and professional life is dedicated to sustainability causes, and this is evident in the mindful messages in her songwriting and performing. Erin is a consummate solo artist, and also performs with Central Coast crooner Jody Mulgrew as Heartbreak Hill, with her “bluesgrass” band, Chuck Johnson Spur; and recently with Colorado singer-songwriter Gabrielle Louise. A powerful singer and solid banjo picker, Erin’s music is an appetizing blend of sentient tenderness and charismatic vitality.
GABRIELLE LOUISE is a nationally touring troubadour noted for her poignant lyrics and lush voice. The daughter of two vagabond musicians, Gabrielle inherited the genetic predisposition to wanderlust and song. Gabrielle Louise's music is anchored deeply in folk, but undeniably drawn to rich harmonies and melodic adventurism. Her sound has the earthy feel of early Joni Mitchell while also veering into the spirited delivery of fellow genre-hopping artist Martin Sexton. Unafraid to take a random musical escapade in the name of inspiration, Gabrielle is at one moment folkie and ethereal, the next moment a smoky jazz chanteuse. More soul than special effect, she gently entices her listener to release their grip on the status quo.
